Objectives
After completion of both courses, the successful students would be able to:
- Develop skills in human relationship and communication in daily work; and particularly Nursing / Health Care Services.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles underlying the techniques and methods used in Nursing / Health Care Services.
- Practice ethical values and life coping skills in personal and professional life.
- Function as a trained and skilled human-resource in the role of a Health / Nursing Assistant and would get opportunities for employment in Health / Nursing Care Sectors, as well as in self-employment.
- In addition, the certificate from National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), formed under the aegis of the Finance Ministry, offers much better scope of employment.
Eligibility for Admission
- Minimum age for admission shall be 16 years on or before 31st Dec of the year of admission.
- Maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
- The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Madhyamik Examination or an equivalent with 10 years schooling from a recognized board with minimum 45% aggregate marks. For GDA, similar marks with class VIII Passed.
- Medical fitness will be a precondition for admission to the Institute.
Selection Criteria
Selection of candidates is generally made on the basis of total points obtained in the following phases:
- Marks obtained in the Madhyamik/Higher Secondary Examination for DHA and Class VIII Marks for GDA
- Entrance Test conducted by the College
- Interview
Duration
DHA - One year including internship (January-December & July-June)
GDA - Six months (January-June & July-December)
Hostel Accomodation
- Limited number of dormitory type accommodation is available for outstation female students in both the Campuses against minimum rent. Food at own cost.
- Free Food-&-Lodging facilities are provided to a few number of very poor but meritorious girl students only.
